Munich, October 2016 – eMove360° Europe 2016 – International Trade Fair for Mobility 4.0, that ended last Thursday, has had a successful debut in Munich as the successor of the trade fairs MATERIALICA and sMove360°. It was the last time that it was held simultaneously to eCarTec Munich. 356 exhibitors from 28 countries – this represents a share of international exhibitors of 43 per cent – showed their innovations for the mobility of the future on 22,000 square meters and had a bigger audience than last year.

The conference 2. World Mobility Summit held in parallel to the trade fairs was once again a success with 300 participants from all over the world. In the three awards featuring the subjects electric mobility, materials and design as well as connected and autonomous driving more than 100 companies and organizations have joined the competition, among them renowned companies like BMW, Audi, Continental, Schaeffler, ebm-papst, Grohe or Bosch Software Innovations as well as small companies and renowned research facilities. With the Bavarian State Award for electric Mobility – its award ceremony was attended for the first time by Bavarian State Minister Ilse Aigner – MunichExpo even set a new record.

„Electric mobility is one of the key technologies for future mobility. Artificial intelligence used for networked and autonomous driving will also be vitally important“, said German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Sigmar Gabriel in his greeting to the trade fair. „For Germany to retain its capacity for innovation and to remain an industrial powerhouse, it is essential that we engage in research and development in these two fields. This is why the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy calls for and supports investment in these technologies and will continue to do so.“

Robert Metzger, Managing Director of organizer MunichExpo, added: „We have been watching the progressing connection of electric and automated driving for some time. Therefore, we will unite these two topics as well as Urban & Mobile Design under the new brand eMove360° and will no longer use the name eCarTec, especially because of its contextual restriction on cars. Because it is not just about electric cars, it is also about commercial vehicles, motorcycles, ships and even aircrafts – and in general about the big issue how we will move in the future. We will refine our trade fair in this direction, in order to be able to provide a relevant platform where we bring together offer and demand regarding the mobility of the future.”

eMove360° Europe 2017, that will take place from October 17-19, 2017, at Messe München, is already open for bookings at https://www.emove360.com – currently with an “Early Bird” discount.
