Amperfied GmbH, a subsidiary of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (HEIDELBERG), has won a major contract for electric vehicle fleets. Amperfied will assume operational management of the charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in Germany for SAP SE. Implementation will begin in the second quarter of 2025 with the migration of 1,720 existing SAP charging points to Amperfied’s cloud backend. A further expansion to approximately 3,700 charging points is planned.
The contract for Amperfied includes backend management of the charging stations, the provision and management of access media such as charging cards and an app for currently around 6,500 employees with electric and hybrid vehicles, comprehensive reporting, technical support and maintenance, and fraud prevention measures. A cloud-based software platform is used for this, enabling intelligent charging point and process management. The goal of the long-term partnership between Amperfied and SAP is efficient and secure management of the charging infrastructure.
SAP is consistently driving forward the electrification of its vehicle fleet: Starting in April 2025, employees will be able to order only electrified vehicles, and from 2026, only fully electric models. By 2030, the entire vehicle fleet is to be emission-free. SAP’s entire fleet currently comprises approximately 19,000 vehicles, of which approximately 4,800 are purely electric and approximately 4,400 are hybrid vehicles. To support the growing number of electric vehicles, SAP plans to continuously expand its charging infrastructure.
The collaboration underscores Amperfied’s transformation into a provider of customized e-mobility services for business customers. With new solutions, HEIDELBERG is focusing particularly on charging vehicle fleets at company locations. The offering includes a cloud-based backend with an integrated billing solution, the integration of existing charging points, maintenance services, and a rental model for charging infrastructure.
