Farewell to Airbus: Dirk Hoke will be the new CEO of Volocopter

As of September, Dirk Hope, former CEO of Airbus Defense & Space, will take over as CEO and Managing Director of Volocopter, the pioneer of urban air mobility (UAM. Hoke succeeds Florian Reuter, under whose leadership Volocopter grew from a five-person start-up has developed into a global company with unicorn status and over 500 employees. Florian Reuter is leaving the company at his own request in September.

Hoke has extensive experience leading large technology companies at Airbus and Siemens from a technical, strategic and commercial perspective. His track record, especially in the areas of transformation and digitization, made him the ideal candidate to succeed Reuters. Volocopter makes the dream of electric flight in cities come true and wants to be the first UAM developer to enter the commercial market.

Volocopter recently announced a financing round of over EUR 150 million and aims to offer its electric air taxi services to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Further information: www.volocopter.com
