Murata manufacturing was established in 1944 in Japan, known a worldwide leader in electric components. Murata’s products are found in a wide range of applications. The battery business has started from 2017 by merger of Sony energy business.
For battery products, we have cylindrical and laminate LIBs, small LIB and micro primary batteries. There are also standard module and ESS system module with the cylindrical LIBs. We are focusing the power applications with cylindrical LIB and IT related applications, which are relatively low power, with the laminate type. Worldwide production operations, history and line up of cylindrical LIB will be introduced.

The battery business was transferred from Sony in 2017. Cylindrical and laminate LIBs, its battery pack or module and micro primary batteries are produced to support the worldwide customers.
