With the LYRIQ, Cadillac marks a decisive step into the era of fully electric premium mobility. As the brand’s first all-electric model, the vehicle combines advanced technology, performance, and a distinctive design language—positioning itself as a benchmark for how luxury and electrification can seamlessly merge.
At the heart of the LYRIQ lies General Motors’ modular Ultium battery platform. Designed as a flexible “skateboard” architecture, it allows scalable application across multiple vehicle segments while optimizing weight distribution and driving dynamics. In the LYRIQ, a 102 kWh battery system delivers up to 530 kilometers of range and powers a drivetrain with over 500 horsepower—ensuring both efficiency and performance.
Beyond pure performance, the Ultium platform plays a crucial role in enhancing everyday usability. Its advanced thermal management system reuses waste heat from the battery and drivetrain to increase efficiency, particularly in challenging weather conditions. Combined with intelligent energy recovery and preconditioning capabilities, the system ensures stable performance even in extreme temperatures—from freezing cold to intense heat.
A key differentiator in the LYRIQ’s development process is the extensive use of virtual simulations. Cadillac’s engineering teams relied heavily on digital modelling to optimize aerodynamics, cabin comfort, noise reduction, and safety systems early in the design phase. This approach not only accelerated development cycles but also reduced the need for physical prototypes—contributing to more sustainable product development.
The result is a vehicle that offers a refined driving experience: a low center of gravity for improved handling, advanced driver assistance systems, and a quiet, well-balanced interior environment supported by active noise cancellation technologies.
Visually, the LYRIQ introduces a fresh interpretation of Cadillac’s design DNA. Its flowing silhouette, illuminated front signature, and seamless integration of lighting elements create a futuristic yet elegant appearance. The full glass roof extending to the rear spoiler enhances both aerodynamics and the sense of space.
Inside, technology and craftsmanship converge. The centerpiece is a curved 33-inch LED display with 9K resolution—one of the most advanced infotainment interfaces in the segment. It integrates vehicle data, navigation, and inputs from cameras and sensors into a single, intuitive interface. Complemented by premium materials and a high-end AKG audio system with 19 speakers, the interior delivers a lounge-like experience tailored to modern expectations of comfort and connectivity.
Cadillac has also adapted the LYRIQ specifically for international markets, including Europe. Extensive testing led to adjustments in chassis tuning, steering precision, and braking performance. Multiple driving modes—from comfort-oriented touring to dynamic sport settings—allow drivers to personalize their experience according to road conditions and preferences.
With its holistic approach—combining scalable battery technology, digital engineering processes, and a strong focus on user experience—the Cadillac LYRIQ was recognized as a Finalist of the eMove360° Award for Electric & Autonomous Mobility 2024. It represents a new generation of electric vehicles that not only meet technical requirements but also redefine expectations of premium mobility.
The LYRIQ demonstrates how innovation, design, and engineering excellence can come together to shape the future of mobility.
