The Upper Austrian start-up reduces charging costs for electric company fleets without requiring new charging contracts and by making better use of existing charging cards.
As corporate fleets become increasingly electrified, charging is becoming more complex. Different tariffs, roaming fees, blocking charges and billing systems make it difficult for fleet managers to maintain an overview of their actual costs. At the same charging station, the price can range from around 35 cents to more than one euro per kilowatt-hour, depending on the charging card used.
This is precisely where Elio Fleet comes in. Before every public charging session, the intelligent platform analyses all charging cards available within the company and automatically recommends the most economical option. No additional charging contracts are required.
“Companies are investing significant amounts of money in electrifying their fleets. Yet they often lose money with every individual charging session because nobody has a complete overview of tariffs, roaming costs and the optimal charging card. This is exactly the problem we solve with Elio Fleet,” explains founder Felix Miedler.
Driver App and Management Portal
Drivers receive the appropriate card recommendation directly through an app. At the same time, fleet managers can use a web-based management portal to define price limits, specify preferred charging providers, centrally manage charging cards and evaluate all charging sessions and savings.
The potential savings depend on the individual driving and charging profile. According to calculations by Elio Fleet, high-mileage drivers who mainly use public and rapid charging stations can reduce their costs by up to €1,700 per year. For a mixed profile combining home charging, public charging and AC and DC charging, the expected annual savings amount to approximately €500 to €600.
The market for such solutions is growing. According to the Austrian Coordination Office for E-Mobility, 60,651 battery-electric passenger cars were newly registered in Austria in 2025. As the number of electric company cars increases, intelligent management of total operating costs is becoming an increasingly decisive factor alongside vehicle procurement.
