Anyone who needs electrical energy on a construction site, at events, in rescue services and disaster control or at mountain huts knows the problem: the diesel generators used up to now have long since failed to meet expectations in terms of sustainability and climate protection. The VOLTstation®, developed by Miba Battery Systems, a member of the Miba Group, provides a remedy. The jury of the eMove360° Award 2022 chose it as the winner in the Battery & Powertrain category. The award ceremony took place during the eMove360° Europe 2022, 6th International Trade Fair for Mobility 4.0 electric-connected-autonomous (05 to 07 October) on the evening of 05 October in Conference Room 1 Hall Hub 27 at the Berlin Exhibition Center.
The VOLTstation® is a mobile energy storage unit based on lithium-ion battery technology. Thanks to its modular and compact design, it can be used flexibly as a stationary and mobile power and energy storage unit. From the basic product to the highly customised solution, the VOLTstation® is your reliable energy source that will replace the well-known diesel generators in the medium term. Two configurations are currently available, the ES 30 with a capacity of 28 kWh and the ES 40 with 38 kWh.
The housing of the compact VOLTstation® ES30/ES40 is made of robust, weatherproof aluminium and can be easily transported using lifting lugs or forklift forks. Thanks to its consistent lightweight construction, the VOLTstation® can be transported on a car trailer with a class B driving licence and thus has a unique selling point on the market. The VOLTstation® can be operated in stand-alone mode or in parallel and can be operated via a touch screen. Vehicle trailers, protective tarpaulins, etc. are available as an option to the basic version.
A cloud-based telematics module rounds off the product portfolio, as this can be installed as an option. With regard to Second Life applications of the installed battery packs, there is a clear advantage as charging cycles etc. can be transparently tracked and evaluated. This is also a clear advantage for pay-per-use providers who can optimise their rental income based on the available data. The VOLTstation® enables quiet, clean, emission-free as well as cost-optimised operation. With increasing fuel prices as well as the cost advantage of night-time electricity, mobile energy storage demonstrates its advantages.
