eMove360° Award 2025: PreDesign by SmartCable wins in the Battery & Powertrain category

The expert jury of the eMove360° Award for Electric & Autonomous Mobility nominated the most innovative and future-oriented mobility submissions from more than 30 entries. The jurors selected three companies as winners in the Battery & Powertrain, Autonomous Vehicle, and the special Electric Utility Vehicle categories. The category winners were honored in the beautiful setting of the Holiday Inn Munich Westpark on October 14. PreDesign from SmartCable won in the Battery & Powertrain category.

PreDesign is a digital tool for developing vehicle architectures for combustion engines and electric vehicles. It enables scaled and unscaled designs and utilizes drive-specific parameters and rules from knowledge catalogs. Components and connections are sketched, parameterized, and classified. Validation checks technical correctness based on defined criteria, supported by simulations to ensure compliance with electrical limits.

Already in the architectural phase, preDesign provides important key data – for example, for installation space, cable lengths, cross-sections, or additional systems such as cooling and cable protection. It supports modularization, allows the evaluation of variants, and calculates production data such as the degree of automation and costs. A comparative evaluation is carried out using weighted criteria, adapted to optimization goals such as safety or cost-effectiveness.

Through generative design, digital processing, and current knowledge catalogs, preDesign enables agile, efficient, and future-proof vehicle development. The tool is continuously being developed further.  www.smartcable.de
