Futuristic design, Kvarner gourmet cuisine, and 5-star luxury: The Boutique & Design Hotel Navis, owned by the Kapetanovic family, is one of only nine hotels in Croatia now included in the “Small Luxury Hotels of the World” collection of exclusive boutique hotels. It was meticulously designed by Croatian star architect Idis Turato and is considered a contrast to the typical Austro-Hungarian style of the Opatija Riviera. Like a swallow’s nest, the five-star hotel nestles on a narrow, steep stretch of coastline – somewhat hidden in Preluk Bay between the Austro-Hungarian coastal town of Opatija (Abbazia) and the port city of Rijeka. From the kitchen of top chef Tino Sinožić, a member of the JRE Croatian Association of Top Chefs, wild-caught Kvarner scampi are served – preferably cooked in wine, grilled, or marinated raw with honey and citrus. Sinožić relies on high-quality natural products from the sea and the hinterland. As a bonus, the restaurant, the 44 room terraces, and the outdoor pool with spa offer fantastic views of the offshore Kvarner islands, including Krk and Cres, as well as the port city of Rijeka illuminated at night.
By the way: The charismatic actor Keanu Reaves – famous for the Matrix trilogy and the action series John Wick – has also discovered the stylish design hotel Navis.
