eMove360° hotel tip for battery charging: Chaletdorf Forstgut in the Bavarian Forest

When the summer makes the air shimmer elsewhere, it stays pleasantly cool at the Forstgut. The chalet village near Regen owes this to its location in the middle of the Bavarian Forest and its own estate forest, which surrounds the 13 chalets and suites. A perfect retreat for anyone looking for fresh forest air, soothing tranquillity and an elegant ambience. Architecture and nature merge to create a holiday experience that slows you down. While the deep green canopy of leaves provides shade outside, comfort awaits inside with a private spa, floor-to-ceiling windows and a whirlpool on the terrace. And in the forest itself? There, guests will find hammocks, wooden loungers in particularly beautiful spots and a small yoga platform.

Culinary delights meet privacy There is no traditional restaurant at FORSTGUT, but there are practical pre-cooked menus that are available around the clock in the lounge and that guests can prepare in their own four walls in no time at all. These culinary delights made from fresh ingredients from local farmers and producers combine typical local dishes with international food trends in a delicious way. A sumptuous breakfast basket with regional products is always waiting on the doorstep of every accommodation in the morning, while in the evening you can choose between a traditional cheese fondue or a barbecue package in addition to the pre-cooked menus.

The topic of sustainability is very important to the two hosts Cornelia and Frank von Schnurbein. When building the chalet village, they relied exclusively on local craftsmen and regional raw materials. In addition, 95 per cent of the electricity is generated by their own photovoltaic systems on the roofs and a wood chip heating system covers 100 per cent of the heating requirements. Both contribute to the refuge’s positive ecological balance. The Bavarian Forest Nature Park offers hikers and cyclists an extensive network of around 7,000 kilometres of marked hiking trails as well as gentle bike tours and challenging trails.
