The Hafnerleiten Estate in Lower Bavaria is the ideal place for a relaxing getaway. Opened in 1999 as Lower Bavaria’s first cooking school, it has since developed into a unique retreat. As demand from cooking course participants for overnight accommodations grew louder, chef Erwin Rückerl and his wife, master hotel manager Anja Horn-Rückerl, created the cozy boathouse as their first accommodation in 2001. Today, the Hafnerleiten Estate, with its ten charming cottages, two pond-side rooms, and five single rooms, not only offers the perfect setting for cooking classes, seminars, and parties, but is also the ideal place for a relaxing workation.
Swap your dirndl for a bathrobe: During Oktoberfest, guests can experience a taste of Germany’s largest folk festival at the idyllic Hofgut this year – gourmet pretzels and tastings of the farm’s own Einhorn beers included. A 20-minute hand massage will provide the necessary relaxation. The package is valid for a minimum of three nights between September 7 and October 12, 2025, including half board, and costs from €1,260 for two people.
