Then we would like to recommend the HUBERTUS Mountain Refugio in Balderschwang. At an altitude of just over 1,044 meters, in “Bavarian Siberia,” you can expect plenty of white splendor. After hours in the fresh air, the spa beckons with a sauna, rooftop onsen, and cozy relaxation rooms. There is a very special place on the hotel’s sun terrace: “Glüh’bertus,” the smallest fondue hut in the Alps. A maximum of four guests can sit there and be treated to a three-course fondue by chef Kristian Knölke. There is Balderschwang mountain cheese, followed by a fondue chinoise and a melt-in-the-mouth chocolate fondue for dessert. An experience that captures the very atmosphere that makes winter in the Allgäu so special.
