Big Minds in Sand in Taufers: the energy self-sufficient OLM is putting together exciting packages for its guests, with special people taking centre stage. It all starts on 24 May with extreme mountaineer Reinhold Messner from Bressanone/Brixen, who will provide guests with a few insights while hiking and cooking. Together with his wife Diane Messner, he will be travelling to Mühlwald by bus in the morning. They will be joined by OLM manager Astrid Hellweger and cheese sommelier Martin Pircher, as three cheese dairies will be visited on a sociable and communicative hike. At Eggemoa, Mittermairhof and Hochgruberhof, the importance of rural cheese production in the valley will be explained, including tastings. The captivating anecdotes of the likeable extreme mountaineer make the hiking stages fly by. Back at the OLM, a kitchen chat with Reinhold, Diane and head chef Berni Aichner takes place in the evening. Local barley with fresh mountain herbs takes centre stage in the front cooking. Kuenhof from Brixen will provide the perfect wine accompaniment.
