As a grocer’s shop, inn or traditional hotel – the Weisses Kreuz in Burgeis has always been a meeting place and has been owned by the Theiner family since 1871. Situated in the original Vinschgau Valley, the architecturally remarkable four-star superior hotel combines the historic with the modern and tradition with innovation. Together with the listed Ansitz zum Löwen, the design ensemble in the heart of the South Tyrolean village has 47 stylishly and differently furnished rooms and suites for ‘adults only’. In the award-winning gourmet restaurant Mamesa, guests can enjoy culinary creations ranging from Alpine classics and Mediterranean specialities to international delicacies. Exquisite wines from all over the world are stored in ‘the blue wineroom’. Local natural materials such as wood and Sarner porphyry stone characterise the 1,300 square metre Aura Mea Spa with three saunas, relaxation rooms and pools, while selected treatments with South Tyrolean natural cosmetics round off the wellness offer.
