EnBW has opened a new indoor fast-charging park on the A7 motorway in Hamburg, at junction 26 Hamburg-Stellingen. The location at Kamerbalken 17 is ideally located for both long-distance travelers and Hamburg’s city traffic. With 20 HPC charging points offering up to 400 kilowatts of power, electric cars can charge enough energy for a range of up to 400 kilometers in just 15 minutes.
A special feature for NIO drivers: At the Power Swap Station, they can swap their empty battery for a nearly fully charged one within minutes – a fast alternative to conventional charging.
“Hamburg leads the nation with 25 percent of electric taxis, which shows that electromobility is both environmentally friendly and economical. To drive the mobility transition, we need continued innovative solutions and cooperation between the taxi industry, the energy industry, and the city,” says Dr. Anjes Tjarks, Senator for Transport and Mobility Transition.
Volker Rimpler, CTO at EnBW mobility+, emphasizes the importance of the new location: “The fast-charging park in Hamburg-Stellingen demonstrates that fast charging in urban areas and long-distance transport can be efficiently combined. Such locations fit perfectly with our strategy of making e-mobility suitable for everyday use.”
The cooperation between EnBW and NIO is a step towards further promoting electromobility. “The combination of battery swapping and high-power charging makes e-mobility in Hamburg even more practical – for taxi drivers as well as for private users,” says David Sultzer, General Manager of NIO Germany.
