Between Hamburg and the North Sea coast: EWE Go and Hochtief have opened a new fast-charging park at the famila supermarket in Heide. This was realized in close collaboration with Bartels-Langness Handelsgesellschaft and is the first joint location of EWE Go and Hochtief in Schleswig-Holstein. The partners are thus marking a significant milestone in the further expansion of the German network and sending a clear signal for reliable and everyday electric mobility in the region.
With twelve high-power charging (HPC) stations and a total of 24 charging points, each station provides a charging capacity of at least 400 kW. Depending on the vehicle type and battery level, electric vehicles can be charged quickly and reliably within 15 to 30 minutes. The charging park is designed for low-barrier access and, like all EWE Go charging stations, is powered by 100 percent green electricity.
“The new location in Heide is a successful launch for our activities in Schleswig-Holstein – and a good example of how, together with strong partners, we are rapidly making visible progress in the Deutschlandnetz (Germany Network) to expand charging infrastructure in a customer-oriented manner,” says Kevin Tortora, Managing Director of EWE Go Hochtief Ladepartner GmbH & Co. KG. Kevin Wiegand, Project Manager for PV Systems & Charging Infrastructure at Bartels-Langness Handelsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG, also emphasizes the importance of the project: “Charging without detours – this is how e-mobility becomes user-friendly. famila’s parking facilities offer optimal conditions for conveniently located charging stations that are accessible around the clock. The charging station is therefore a logical step in our commitment to modern infrastructure both for the community and at famila locations.”
More charging stations will follow: The Deutschlandnetz project is an initiative of the Federal Ministry of Transport to create a nationwide, user-friendly fast-charging infrastructure. At the end of 2023, HOCHTIEF and EWE Go were awarded the contract to finance, plan, build, and operate a total of 850 charging points in the North-West and West regions. The regions include North Rhine-Westphalia, Lower Saxony, Bremen, and Hamburg, as well as parts of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Schleswig-Holstein. While EWE Go, one of the largest operators of charging infrastructure in Germany, will handle the technical implementation and operation, Hochtief, as an experienced infrastructure service provider, will contribute its expertise to the planning and construction of the sites.
