Ferrari Luce: Maranello’s first all-electric sports car—its bold, ingenious design ushers in a new era

Ferrari has unveiled the Ferrari Luce, its first fully electric sports car – and a bold new chapter for the Prancing Horse. Designed in collaboration with Sir Jony Ive and Marc Newson from LoveFrom, the Luce combines a striking, futuristic design language with unmistakable Ferrari performance.

With its clear glasshouse, floating aerodynamic wings and sculptural proportions, the Luce looks like a fascinating mix of 1970s concept car, luxury GT and high-performance electric playcar. At the same time, it remains a true Ferrari: emotional, powerful and technically advanced.

The car is based on a dedicated electric platform with four electric motors, one for each wheel, enabling precise torque vectoring, electric all-wheel drive and highly dynamic handling. Ferrari quotes 0–100 km/h in 2.5 seconds, 0–200 km/h in 6.8 seconds and a top speed of 310 km/h. The 122 kWh battery offers an estimated range of 530 km and supports fast charging with up to 350 kW.

Benedetto Vigna, CEO of Ferrari, describes the Luce as a statement of courage and technological openness: “We are convinced that a company demonstrates its leadership when it has the courage to dare and to take on the challenge of new technologies. Ferrari Luce was born precisely from this challenge, offering our unprecedented vision of electrification. Never before have we offered our clients such freedom of choice.”

The Luce also introduces active suspension, rear-wheel steering, advanced regenerative braking and a patented sound system that creates an authentic driving sound from the car’s own mechanical vibrations. Inside, Ferrari combines physical controls with digital displays, focusing on tactile interaction and driver engagement.

With the Ferrari Luce, Maranello is not simply launching “an electric Ferrari” – it is presenting a new interpretation of what a Ferrari can be in the electric age. As Vigna adds: “With Luce, we have launched a whole new segment in our range. This model is the result of more than 60 of our new patents and lies at the heart of an ecosystem of collaborations with outstanding technology partners. We have created a car that combines unique driving emotions with extraordinary performance, driving pleasure, and comfort for the Ferraristi of today and tomorrow.”
