FIAT and the Government of Vatican City State are launching a joint initiative for more sustainable and responsible mobility. FIAT is providing 30 specially equipped vehicles, including the electric light vehicles Fiat Topolino and Fiat TRIS. This fleet enables employees of the Governorate—the state administration—to enjoy efficient, practical, and environmentally friendly mobility.
The establishment of this all-electric fleet is in line with the Vatican’s environmental strategy. The Vatican has launched the “Ecological Conversion 2030” program to reduce the carbon footprint of its vehicle fleet and promote sustainable mobility. This path toward decarbonization, which aims for a zero-emission fleet by the end of the decade, is fully aligned with FIAT’s environmental strategy. The brand is already making the transport of goods and people increasingly sustainable through innovative micromobility solutions.
The first 20 vehicles were handed over today at the Governorate’s headquarters in the presence of Archbishop Emilio Nappa, attorney Giuseppe Puglisi-Alibrandi, the Governorate’s secretaries-general, and Olivier François, CEO of Fiat and CMO of the Stellantis Group.
This ceremony marked the start of a larger event in Rome that FIAT dedicated to its entire micromobility division. As part of this event, the brand also presented its vision for the future of compact urban mobility and highlighted FIAT’s significant role in this rapidly evolving segment.
