Monaco E-Prix Round 10
Formula E is strengthening one of its most prestigious partnerships: The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship will continue racing in Monaco until at least 2031. Formula E and the Automobile Club de Monaco (ACM) confirmed the long-term extension alongside a revised date for the 2027 Monaco E-Prix, which will now take place on 1 and 2 May instead of 15 and 16 May.
The change, approved by an e-vote of the FIA World Motor Sport Council, avoids a clash with the World Endurance Championship and fits Monaco’s wider events calendar. What began as a biennial race has developed into an annual highlight on the legendary full-length Circuit de Monaco.
Alberto Longo, Co-Founder and Chief Championship Officer of Formula E, described Monaco as an incomparable stage for the next generation of electric racing. The new GEN4 car is expected to deliver higher speeds, more overtaking and intense wheel-to-wheel competition. Mahindra Racing driver Nyck de Vries, winner in Monaco this year, also welcomed the extension, calling the race an essential part of Formula E.
The 2026/27 season will be the largest in championship history, featuring 21 races across 13 events. It begins with a night double-header in Jeddah on 18 and 19 December 2026 and includes Mexico City, Austin, Miami, São Paulo, Sanya, Monaco, Berlin, London at Brands Hatch, Zandvoort, Madrid, Shanghai and the finale in Tokyo on 24 and 25 July 2027.
Double-header weekends will also introduce a new format combining the traditional E-Prix with the shorter E-PrixUnleashed, designed to showcase the unrestricted performance of the GEN4 car.
With manufacturers including Porsche, Jaguar, Nissan, Stellantis, Mahindra and Lola Cars, Formula E remains both a global racing platform and a development laboratory for electric mobility.
