Porsche nominates Gabriela Jílková and Marta García for test drives in the Porsche 99X Electric. They will take part in the official Formula E pre-season tests in Valencia, Spain, at the beginning of November. The all-electric world championship is dedicating part of the test to female drivers – with the intention of promoting women in top-level global motorsport. Jílková from the Czech Republic joins Spain’s García, who is a member of the ‘Iron Dames’ squad. The successful pink-coloured project is equally committed to empowering women in motorsport. The dedicated session for female drivers will take place on 7 November between 2 and 5 pm. It is the first of its kind in a championship organised by the FIA. The innovative Formula E aims to break down barriers for women in their sport and offer them opportunities to prove themselves. As a result of the initiative in Valencia, up to 22 women will drive the cars of 11 world championship teams. Jílková (29) already completed 43 laps and 152 kilometres in the Porsche 99X Electric last year in Valencia – as a simulator and development driver in the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team. It was her first outing in the Porsche Monoposto. She also has experience in GT and prototype racing, including competing in the GT4 European Series in 2024. After Swiss driver Simona de Silvestro, Jílková became the second female driver in Porsche’s Formula E squad. ‘Iron Dame’ García (24) drove a Formula E car for the first time in May – at the official rookie test of the electric racing series in Berlin. She is the first female champion of the Formula 1 junior series for women, the F1 Academy (2023). Since April, she has been racing in the colours of the Iron Dames, with whom Porsche has already cooperated in the past. García’s main focus is currently on the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine. In Valencia, the Porsche 99X Electric from the third-generation GEN3 Evo Formula E car will be officially used for the first time (world premiere on 24 October). In addition to Jílková and García, world champion Pascal Wehrlein and team-mate António Félix da Costa will be behind the wheel. The tests will run from 4 to 7 November.
