Munich is growing, and so traffic in our city continues to increase. Urban politics therefore do the utmost to promote environmentally friendly mobility.
In the coming years and decades, for example, we will be investing around 5.5 billion euros in public transport in an unprecedented expansion campaign, thereby expanding the rail network by around 20 percent. In addition, electric mobility in road traffic is an essential building block for sustainable and city-compatible mobility. With 60 million euros for the period from 2015 to 2020, we have launched the largest municipal support program for electric mobility so far. For example, the purchase of pedelecs and e-scooters, charging infrastructure and consulting services are subsidized. In addition, the conversion of the bus fleet of the Local Transport Authority MVG and the municipal fleet to electric vehicles will be accelerated. With this funding program, the city is deeply involved in the expansion of electric mobility in Munich.
For this reason too, it is very welcome that the “eMove360° Europe 2018” trade fair takes place in Munich. As the leading trade fair for electric mobility and autonomous driving, it presents a wide range of future-oriented mobility concepts and innovative technologies. It offers developers, IT experts and designers an important forum for professional exchange, but it is also open to anyone interested in sustainable mobility.
