eMove360° Hoteltip: Romantik Hotel Turm, Völs am Schlern

Perhaps it’s a painting by Oskar Kokoschka that catches your eye while enjoying your first aperitif. Or a work by Otto Dix that suddenly appears from a corner. A Picasso at the bar? At the Romantik Hotel Turm, part of the Belvita Leading Wellnesshotels Südtirol, art is certainly not just decoration—it’s part of the history.

Around 2,000 oil paintings, watercolors, and lithographs are displayed throughout the hotel. These include works by Joseph Beuys, Giorgio de Chirico, and other great names. So when you wander through the rooms here, you don’t need a museum map: you encounter the art quite naturally—on your way to your room, during dinner, or even at the bar.

The fact that art holds such a prominent place at the Turm is thanks to Karl Pramstrahler—an art lover and the father of the current host, Stephan. His passion has given this over 800-year-old building a distinctive character all its own. Historic walls tell of the past, while contemporary comforts reflect the present. The complex includes the 13th-century tower, the Kraiterhaus with its round tower, the Eulenturm, and the Wagenhaus.

And then there’s the landscape. Beyond the old walls, the view opens up to the Schlern. In the wellness area, this becomes a panorama that invites you to unwind. The rooms and suites blend history with modern design, while the cuisine ensures your stay is a culinary delight as well.

The beauty of it all: nothing feels staged. Art, architecture, mountains, and indulgence come together to create a place that has its own rhythm. You come for South Tyrol—and might stay a little longer because even the walk to the bar becomes a mini museum visit.
