Iconic Dodge Charger Returns to Europe as a Fully Electric Vehicle

After 60 years of muscle car history, the Dodge Charger is returning to Europe. The American performance icon is entering a new era, with the all-electric Charger Daytona taking center stage for the first time.

Since its debut in 1966, the Charger has become a symbol of performance, bold design, and American automotive culture. Now, Dodge is combining its legendary muscle car DNA with modern electric mobility, bringing a vehicle to market that aims to deliver driving excitement and performance without local emissions.

For the European market in particular, this move is significant. The all-electric Charger Daytona demonstrates that even traditional performance brands can successfully embrace the transition to electromobility.

Less future-oriented, however, is Dodge’s decision to continue offering the new Charger alongside the SIXPACK internal combustion engine. At a time when much of the automotive industry is focusing its investments on battery-electric technology, continuing to develop combustion-powered models appears increasingly at odds with the long-term direction of sustainable mobility.

“The return of the Charger to Europe is a significant moment for our brand,” said Fabio Catone. “We are bringing back a distinctive American nameplate to customers who value character and authenticity.”

Looking for the Mobility Innovations of Tomorrow

The all-electric Dodge Charger Daytona is an example of how even legendary vehicle concepts can successfully reinvent themselves for the electric age. Innovations like these are also at the heart of the eMove360° Award for Electric & Autonomous Mobility 2026.

Companies, startups, research institutions, and universities are invited to submit their innovations in the fields of electric vehicles, batteries, charging & energy, autonomous driving, AI, and mobility services.
