A new look: First pictures of the Opel Rocks

The new Opel Rocks will be launched soon. The first pictures show it with new styling elements: Like all other models, its Opel Vizor shines in characteristic black, while the Opel flash at the front and rear shines in contrasting white. While the bodywork below the window line will be completely light grey in future, the black roof and black wheels will remain eye-catching features. However, the Rocks retains its usual strengths. To drive the Rocks through the city, a class AM driving licence is sufficient. Compared to e-bikes, e-scooters and other motorised two-wheelers, the Rocks offers relevant advantages. The light motor vehicle protects the occupants from wind and weather and, thanks to its tubular frame and deformation zones as well as a windscreen made of laminated glass, the Rocks makes driving safer. In addition, the Rocks offers locally emission-free urban mobility.

The small Opel offers an electric range of up to 75 kilometres, which can be covered at speeds of up to 45 km/h. The Rocks can be charged via any normal household socket. The charging cable is integrated into the side panel behind the passenger door and can simply be pulled out when required. With a turning circle of just 7.20 metres, drivers can easily steer the 2.41 metre short and just 1.39 metre wide (without wing mirrors) Rocks through tight bends or into small parking spaces. With its fresh styling, the city Stromer is once again an unconventional eye-catcher – also because the two doors have an identical design, typical of Rocks. The front passenger door swings forwards, while the driver’s door opens in the opposite direction towards the rear.

The interior design, which is consistently geared towards functionality, impresses with easy-to-grip controls and clear, easy-to-read displays focussed on the essentials. A smartphone holder positioned on the centre console with USB port and connectivity via DAT dongle ensures connectivity and offers access to the ‘myOpel’ app, among other things. In addition, Rocks drivers can connect their smartphone via Bluetooth using the separately attachable ‘MyRocks Switch’ on the steering wheel. With ‘MyRocks Play’, you can listen to your favourite music, use your preferred navigation system and make phone calls without taking your eyes off the road.

The new design of the Rocks steering wheel also shines: with a white Opel flash on a black background, it now perfectly reflects the Opel Vizor and thus brings the characteristic design feature into the interior. The standard panoramic roof, which, like the side windows and rear window, is made of tempered safety glass, ensures a bright, pleasant atmosphere – unusual for a vehicle in this class. And if the weather is not so good, the Rock’s modern LED headlights ensure better visibility in rain or darkness.
