The Karsan Autonomous e-ATAK, winner of the eMove360° Award 2025, has successfully demonstrated its operational maturity under real-world conditions in Paris.
In a six-month project with RATP Group, the Level-4 autonomous bus completed around 3,000 kilometers in dense urban traffic – including interactions with pedestrians, intersections, and traffic lights. Operating up to five hours daily, the vehicle achieved an impressive 98% autonomous driving rate without driver intervention.
Following extensive validation at UTAC and regulatory assessment, the project received nationwide approval from the French Ministry of Transport, allowing autonomous operations in open traffic. This makes the deployment one of the most advanced and credible real-world applications of autonomous public transport in Europe.
Karsan CEO Okan Baş emphasized that the results prove autonomous driving is no longer a future vision but already a viable solution for today’s urban mobility challenges.
With further projects planned – including fully driverless operations by 2026 – Karsan continues to position itself at the forefront of autonomous public transport innovation.
