etu -
“The etu represents a completely new way of experiencing urban space: just two wheels, an enclosed passenger compartment and an incomparable feeling of lightness, agility and dynamism – a two-seater street surfer that glides through the city at speeds of up to 90 km/h and with a range of up to 400 kilometres. All this at an attractive price of less than 25,000 euros. Production of the revolutionary street surfer, which is 2.2 metres long, 1.8 metres wide and 1.5 metres high, is scheduled to start in 2031. This is entirely in line with the vision of its developer Wolfgang Podleiszek, CEO of Wolf eMobility, based in Austria, and head of the successful German vehicle developer ‘Serienreif’ for 14 years: “Climate-friendly mobility only works if it inspires. If it excites, touches and captivates people. That’s exactly why we built the etu. No greenwashing, but genuine sustainability through technological progress that guarantees pure driving pleasure.”
Made from sustainable regional materials, the etu meets the highest safety standards while remaining light and agile. The portable battery can be conveniently charged at home from any power outlet – a freedom that no longer relies on charging station infrastructure. The etu moves intuitively through narrow streets, its steering is inspired by motorcycles, and it fits effortlessly into any parking space – thanks to innovative stand-and-turn technology. This creates a completely new, almost physical connection between the driver and the road. Every cornering manoeuvre becomes a sensory experience, as the passenger compartment actively tilts with the driver in every direction. The dynamics? Pure emotion, enhanced by an active chassis and individually controllable via the etu app. Navigation, infotainment, community – everything can be controlled smartly and intuitively via an integrated tablet. Here, urban lifestyle merges with technology that does not distract, but accompanies.
The etu provides the answer to one of the most pressing questions of our time: How will we move around our cities in the future? Cleanly, efficiently, intelligently and with maximum driving pleasure. The etu is much more than just a vehicle project. It is the vision of a new urban mobility full of emotion, driving dynamics and green technological progress. With this unique concept, Wolf eMobility wants to win over investors and partners for a common goal: entering a market with billion-euro potential – and the chance to make mobility history. The goals are clearly defined: 0.24% European market share by 2035, 0.16% worldwide by 2040. That may sound small – but in a rapidly changing billion-euro market, it means more than 6 billion euros in sales by 2036. So far, 1 million euros have already been invested in this vision, with a further 78 million euros to follow in order to bring the etu into series production. Renowned partners are already on board, including KTM and the sister company of ‘Wolf eMobility’, the German vehicle developer ‘Serienreif’, with whom the first prototype of the etu is to be realised by 2027.
The time is ripe for this revolution in urban mobility, says Podleiszek. Over the next 15 years, thousands of cities around the world, home to 5.3 billion people, will be transformed into CO₂-free, energy-efficient smart cities. From 2035, only zero-emission vehicles will be permitted in the EU, and from 2040 this will apply to over 60 countries worldwide. The etu is designed precisely for this purpose: it comes at the right time with the right solution.
