The Automotive AI Paradox: Why Intelligent Features Don’t Make an Intelligent Vehicle

We are pleased to welcome Lucas Bublitz, Principal Lead Technology Autonomous Mobility & Physical AI at P3 consulting GmbH, as a speaker at eMove360° Europe 2026.

AI capabilities are developing at unprecedented speed – but their integration into vehicles still lags behind.

In his presentation

“The Automotive AI Paradox: Why Intelligent Features Don’t Make an Intelligent Vehicle. First Benchmark Results from Europe.”

Lucas Bublitz will present first results from the P3 Automotive AI Benchmark, examining the depth of AI integration across 45 functions and five domains at European and Chinese OEMs. The benchmark and presentation were developed together with co-authors Christoph Giannoulis, Senior Consultant Autonomous Mobility, and Adrian Grimm, Consultant Autonomous Mobility, at P3 consulting GmbH.

The key question: Are today’s vehicles really becoming intelligent systems – or are we simply adding more and more isolated intelligent features?

The session will explore topics including:
🔹 Software-Defined Vehicles as the foundation for AI
🔹 AI-first versus AI-retrofit approaches
🔹 The path from individual AI features to the agentic vehicle
🔹 Differences between European and Chinese OEMs
🔹 Safety, data protection and regulatory constraints
🔹 Implications for OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers and start-ups

Lucas Bublitz will also join the concluding AI in Mobility panel discussion together with leading experts from the mobility industry.
