MAINGAU Energie: 285 euro GHG premium for e-car drivers

The GHG quota serves to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the transport sector. Since 2022, owners of an e-car have been allowed to sell their saved greenhouse gases to companies that exceed certain CO2 limits. The energy supplier from Obertshausen, MAINGAU Energie, offers electric car drivers the opportunity to sign up for greenhouse gas reduction quota trading (GHG quota for short) and receive a bonus of 285 euros. E-car owners who transfer their quota to MAINGAU Energie receive a twofold relief from the energy supplier: Both the application for the quota to the Federal Environment Agency and the sale of the bundled quotas to emission-intensive companies with better sales conditions are taken over completely. Richard Schmitz, Managing Director of MAINGAU Energie, is satisfied with the company’s own GHG bonus portal: “As a long-standing energy company, MAINGAU Energie guarantees reliable payment and scores points with its simple processing. Thus, several thousand registered e-mobilists have already benefited since the start.” To receive the 2023 bonus, owners of an all-electric car register via MAINGAU Energie’s THG bonus portal and upload their vehicle registration document. Only registered owners are entitled to transfer the GHG quota for one year at a time. A second sale of the same quota to another company is not possible during this period. A private individual can have up to five cars certified. www.maingau-energie.de
