Materialica Design + Technology Award 2025: Finalist in the Material category

The finalists and winners of the 23rd MATERIALICA Design + Technology Award were announced at eMove360° Europe 2025 – AI is Driving the Mobility – International Conference & Exhibition for Electric & Autonomous Mobility (October 14 and 15). The expert jury selected the most innovative and sustainable products and projects from a total of more than 30 submissions as finalists for this prestigious award. It is the only award worldwide positioned at the intersection of design, technology, and materials. The category winners were honored in the beautiful setting of the Holiday Inn Munich Westpark on October 14.

The finalists in the Materials category are Mxenes/LDH/MOF from Nanjing MingShan New Materials Co., Ltd. and the Quzhou Institute of Zhejiang University. The jury was impressed by the award: Mxenes are materials with high electrical conductivity and hydrophilicity that are used in energy storage, electromagnetic shielding, and as sensors. They are also suitable for water treatment and catalysis. Double-layer hydroxides (LDHs) are inorganic materials used in energy storage, catalysis, and pollutant removal from water. Other applications include flame retardants and drug carriers. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are used in gas separation, catalysis, and biomedicine, particularly as drug carriers. They are also suitable for chemical and biological sensors and energy conversion.  www.njmission.com
