The finalists and winners of the 23rd MATERIALICA Design + Technology Award were announced at eMove360° Europe 2025 – AI is Driving the Mobility – International Conference & Exhibition for Electric & Autonomous Mobility (October 14 and 15). The expert jury selected the most innovative and sustainable products and projects from a total of more than 30 submissions as finalists for this prestigious award. It is the only award worldwide positioned at the intersection of design, technology, and materials. The category winners were honored in the beautiful setting of the Holiday Inn Munich Westpark on October 14.
The finalist in the Materials category is the Frixion Healthcare Fabric Upholstery from ergoCentric. This convinced the jury: Hospital chairs must be upholstered with coated fabrics that can be cleaned with disinfectants. However, these fabrics are often slippery. Frixion Healthcare Fabric solves this problem with anti-slip technology that keeps the user firmly in their seat. It is resistant to hospital cleaning agents, including 10% bleach, and is available for all ergoCentric seating products, including a PVC-free version with a 5-year warranty. www.ergocentric.com
