Volvo Trucks has been offering electric trucks since 2019. Customers in 50 countries worldwide have since switched to electric transport, covering almost 170 million kilometres in commercial use. These trucks have not only reduced CO₂ emissions and traffic noise, but have also improved the working environment for drivers. Volvo’s current range of electric trucks is tailored to the needs of urban and regional distribution transport as well as the construction and waste segment. The top five markets for electric trucks are Germany, the Netherlands, the United States, Norway and Sweden.
‘It is pleasing to see that transport companies continue to take advantage of electric trucks in various transport segments,’ says Roger Alm, President Volvo Trucks. ‘Our battery electric trucks are already available today and offer our customers a more sustainable and economically viable alternative. Many of our customers will then come back to us to expand their electric fleets even further.’
