Octopus Energy‘s charging platform for electric vehicles, Electroverse, becomes the largest platform in Europe with almost 850,000 connected charging stations. Following its breakthrough in the UK market, Octopus’ Electroverse expanded its free app across Europe last year. The platform is now integrated with 950 charge points, including InstaVolt, Osprey, IONITY, MFG, ChargePlace Scotland as well as Aral pulse, TotalEnergies, Powerdot, Be Charge and Free To X. European drivers can access it in 40 countries. The app is available in 20 languages and offers access to around 80 percent of public charging stations in Europe. The popularity of the platform has grown exponentially. Within the last 12 months, Electroverse’s customer base has almost tripled (+180 percent).
In the UK – and soon in Europe – Octopus Electroverse customers will be able to pay for public charging via their monthly electricity bill. The Octopus Electroverse is also available for companies with e-vehicle fleets. The platform offers paid add-on features, such as customizable reporting capabilities, to simplify the operation of electric fleets in companies.
Octopus Electric Vehicles is the largest pure EV leasing company in the UK and complements Octopus Energy, the pioneer of smart tariffs for electric vehicles. The Intelligent Octopus Go tariff uses the energy giant’s Kraken technology platform to charge EVs when the grid is at its greenest and cheapest. The company has also launched Octopus Power Pack, the first vehicle-to-grid tariff for the mass market in the UK, which enables free charging at home.
