Polestar 5
With the Polestar 5, the Swedish electric brand officially launches its four-door performance grand tourer. The production model is based on the 2020 Precept concept vehicle and combines Scandinavian design with technology and sustainability. The nearly 5-meter-long Polestar 5 remains true to the concept: an aerodynamic profile, frameless glass surfaces, “dual blade” LED headlights, and a wing-shaped rear end in the style of Wunibald Kamm. A rear window is omitted in favor of a digital rearview mirror. A 2-meter-long panoramic roof creates a generous feeling of space. The interior, with 4+1 seats, was developed in collaboration with Recaro. Recycled and bio-based materials, including flax fiber upholstery, Econyl carpets, and animal-friendly leather, underscore the sustainability commitment. Modern comfort features such as massage functions, four-zone climate control, and a head-up display round out the interior.
The 14.5-inch infotainment system with Android Automotive and Google integration is controlled by a central rotary dial. A Bowers & Wilkins system with 21 speakers provides the sound. The Polestar 5 features eleven cameras, radar, twelve ultrasonic sensors, and eight airbags. The new Performance Architecture (PPA) is based on an aluminum platform and offers high rigidity and low weight.
The Polestar 5 is offered in two variants: Dual Motor (550 kW/812 Nm, 0–100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, up to 670 km WLTP) and Performance (650 kW/1,015 Nm, 0–100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, up to 565 km WLTP). Both versions feature an 800-volt architecture, a 112-kWh battery (106 kWh usable), and can be charged at up to 350 kW (10–80% in 22 minutes). Prices for the Polestar 5 Dual Motor start at €119,900, and the Performance version at €142,900. Orders opened in the first markets on September 8th.
