Polestar reports record sales for the first four months of 2022 and excellent global order intake, supported by continued expansion into new and existing markets. In the first four months of the year, vehicle sales more than doubled compared to the same period in 2021 to around 13,600 and the company’s order intake more than tripled to almost 23,000 vehicles.
During this period, Polestar has increased its global footprint from 19 markets at the end of 2021 to 23 markets and is confident of reaching its target of 30 total markets by the end of 2023. Spain and Portugal will soon be added to new markets in the Middle East and Europe. The start of business activities in Israel and Italy is planned for later in the year. In addition, Polestar has announced a global partnership with car rental company Hertz, which will see delivery of 65,000 vehicles over the next five years. www.polestar.com
