FDG Electric Vehicles Limited is pleased to announce that the electric vehicle production base of the Group located in Kunming National Hi-tech Industries Development Zone (KMHNZ) of Yunnan was officially put into operation on 8 November and the pure electric vehicles self-developed and manufactured by the Group including public bus series, mid-size bus series and commercial vehicle series were first launched.
With Mr. Liu Huiyan, the Vice Governor of Yunnan Province, Mr. Long Jiang, the Director-General of Yunnan Provincial Science and Technology Department, Mr. Gao Jinsong, the Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee of Kunming City, Mr. Li Wenrong, the Mayor of Kunming City and Mr. Wang Minzheng, the Director of the High and New Technology Development Zone of Kunming City and other officers from the provincial and municipal levels attending the products launching ceremony, symbolizing that the development of the Group’s electric vehicle business has entered a new stage of production and marketing and that the Group is heading towards the direction of creating self-owned international brands with strong competitiveness.

The Group is committed to becoming a leader in the industry of electric vehicle. In addition to the electric vehicle production bases in Yunnan and Hangzhou, the Group has also established an electric vehicle research and development centre in Beijing. Sinopoly Battery Limited of the Group has set up lithium-ion battery production bases in Liaoyuan and Tianjin, respectively, and Sinopoly Battery Research Institute in Shanghai. The Group has integrated the technical expertise and production resources required for research and development and production of finished automobile, research and development and production of battery so as to enter the electric vehicle industry with the advantage of “Integrated Manufacturer of the Entire Industry Chain”.
The mid-size bus, commercial vehicle and public bus series independently researched and developed by the Group have been listed in the announcement of new products by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the PRC. At present, such products have satisfied the conditions on listing for sale. The electric vehicle production base in Kunming has the annual production capacity of 10,000 electric coaches/public buses, mid-size buses and commercial vehicles. The first batch of pure electric vehicles includes two FDE6120 series of 12-meter pure electric public buses, and two FDE6750 series of pure electric luxury mid-size buses and two FDE6810 series of pure electric luxury commercial vehicles. Such three series of products were completely developed based on the characteristics of pure electric vehicle with the technological orientation of international advanced level, aiming at creating international brands.
Of which, the first batch of pure electric public bus (12-meter) series are equipped with the full load safe body with a 12-meter low floor and a low entry. In addition, a wheel dual-motor drive axle is adopted, enabling the travel range to be up to 260km; the mid-size buses and commercial vehicles are equipped with the full load stamping-welded safe body and power battery of high performance modified and customized by the Group in accordance with characteristics of finished automobile. The electric drive system is a wheel dual-motor drive axle independently researched and developed by the Group and the travel range can also reach up to 260km.
Strengthening Innovation of R&D Makes FDG a World-class Electric Vehicle Enterprise
With the tendency to improve the urban environment and save energy in society, electric vehicle has become the development direction and future mainstream of automotive industry all around the world. FDG continuously innovates and improves its ability of R&D and extends its production so as to enhance the overall industrial chain of electric vehicle.
FDG has made detailed production and development plans. After the commissioning of Kunming production base, Hangzhou production base is also expected to commence the production of mid-size buses, commercial vehicles, mini SUVs and luxury electric vehicles in the first half of 2015, with a production capacity of 100,000 units to provide more choices for the market.
