About Session

The DKE German Commission for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies (supported by VDE e. V.) is the responsible non-profit service organization in Germany for the development of standards and safety regulations in the field of electrical engineering, electronics, and information technology.

Around 9,500 technical experts from industry, science, and administration are actively involved in the DKE. As the German national standardization body, it represents Germany as a member of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC).

The results of the DKE’s electrical engineering standardization work are published as DIN standards, which are included in the German DIN body of standards and – if they contain safety-related specifications – also as VDE regulations in the VDE body of regulations.
