About Session

Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) represents a promising solution for automated charging of autonomous electric vehicles and robotaxi fleets. This talk provides an overview of the fundamentals of wireless power transfer and highlights the difference between stationary and dynamic power transfer while driving. In addition, manufacturing-related aspects and test benches for the development and validation of such WPT systems are presented. The work is carried out within the collaboration between the Institute for Factory Automation and Production Systems (FAPS) at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) and the Fraunhofer IISB with its Technology Center for Wireless Power Transfer in Hallstadt near Bamberg.
