Siemens Smart Infrastructure and E.ON Drive Infrastructure are working together to provide millions of electric vehicles across Europe with an intelligent and efficient fast charging infrastructure. The two companies have signed a global framework agreement that includes DC charging stations as well as access to the web-based backend service Sifinity Control. This provides E.ON with comprehensive transparency and configuration options across all charging stations to easily manage and monitor the entire charging network.
In addition, Siemens offers suitable service concepts to ensure high availability and a reliable charging experience for drivers. The SICHARGE D charging system offers the efficient option of expanding the charging station by two additional charging points using a dispenser, which is connected via the existing SICHARGE D mains connection. In addition, the SICHARGE D charging station offers the option of selecting Worldline Valina as one of various payment terminals. This gives E.ON the flexibility to meet the requirements of different regions.
The company has also ordered a number of IoT-enabled transformer stations. This will enable E.ON to effectively manage and secure the energy supply to the charging infrastructure and intelligently control the available power.
The framework agreement provides for the two companies to expand the charging infrastructure in Europe. This includes the markets in Germany, Italy, Sweden and the United Kingdom. This supports E.ON’s goal of expanding its own charging network by at least 1,000 new public fast-charging points every year. The contract has a term of two years, during which additional technologies such as truck and megawatt charging will be further developed to future-proof a broader spectrum of electric road freight transport.
