Giuseppe Serio is the Vice President of Market Development at Upstream, where he drives the development and implementation of global strategic initiatives. With over 20 years of experience in the automotive industry, he sees himself as a sparring partner for decision-makers – an innovator who supports companies in reorienting and digitally transforming their operations, helping them address the challenges of connected mobility.
In his current role at Upstream, he develops innovative strategies that pave the way for future-proof mobility concepts. His work is characterized by close collaboration with executives, leveraging his extensive industry experience to develop practical solutions for securing and integrating the entire mobility landscape. This also includes a critical examination of risks in charging infrastructure, viewed as a natural complement to the challenges surrounding connected vehicles (SDV).
Before joining Upstream, Giuseppe Serio served as Global Industry Solution Leader in the Connected Vehicle & Automotive Cybersecurity division at IBM. There, he played a key role in international projects that supported companies in the digital transformation and security of connected vehicles. This position allowed him to gain firsthand experience with complex technical and strategic issues and to implement innovative security concepts.
He began his professional career as a Senior Strategy Consultant at PwC Consulting, where he early on demonstrated strategic thinking and analytical skills. This experience laid the foundation for his subsequent career and shaped his understanding of the dynamic developments in the automotive industry.
