Farasis Energy, a leading supplier of high-performance lithium-ion pouch cells, has developed a module design concept to prevent thermal propagation using its newest generation of cells (Generation 4). The performance of the modules has been tested and confirmed by independent laboratories on module and pack level. Battery safety is thus significantly increased – an important advantage for OEMs in view of increasingly stringent safety standards for e-cars. Industrial production of the adapted modules is
planned to start in 2025 and upgrading from current battery packs to packs with adapted models is possible without changing production. The gravimetric Energy density is 248 Wh/kg, development target is 260 Wh/kg.
Farasis Energy, ein führender Anbieter von Hochleistungs-Lithium-Ionen-Pouch-Zellen, hat mit seiner neuesten Zellengeneration (Generation 4) ein Modulkonzept entwickelt, das die Wärmeausbreitung verhindert. Die Leistung der Module wurde von unabhängigen Labors auf Modul und Pack-Ebene getestet und bestätigt. Die Batteriesicherheit wird dadurch deutlich erhöht – ein wichtiger Vorteil für OEMs angesichts der immer strengeren Sicherheitsstandards für E-Autos. Die industrielle Produktion der angepassten Module soll im Jahr 2025 beginnen und ein Upgrade von aktuellen Batteriepacks auf Packs mit angepassten Modellen ist ohne Produktionsumstellung möglich. Die gravimetrische Energiedichte beträgt 248 Wh/kg, Entwicklungsziel sind 260 Wh/kg.
