Lightweight valves made from a novel titanium composite material
Based on a novel lightweight titanium material, intake and exhaust valves for the engine sector have been developed which entail drastic weight reductions while improving durability, wear and corrosion resistance. The weight reductions of approx. 40% result in new possibilities with regard to the design of the valve train. Emissions can be reduced, efficiencies increased and thus resources saved.
Leichtbauventile aus neuartigem Titan-Leichtbauwerkstoff
Auf Basis eines neuartigen TitanLeichtbauwerkstoffes wurden Ein und Auslassventile für den Motorenbereich entwickelt, welche unter Verbesserung von Dauerhaltbarkeit, Verschleiß und Korrosionsbeständigkeit drastische Gewichtsreduktionen mit sich bringen. Die Gewichtsreduktionen von ca. 40% resultieren in neuen Möglichkeiten bzgl. der Gestaltung des Ventiltriebs. Emissionen können reduziert, Wirkungsgrade gesteigert und damit Ressourcen gespart werden.
