ORGANICO – An ecological lightweight Sandwich board
The project Organico utilizes hemp as a renewable resource for the development of a new, material. An adhesive, composed of calcium hydroxide and casein, is used to press hemp fi bers and hemp shives into a sandwich material. This sandwich structure, with fi bers on the outer surface and a foamy core, translates the natural structure of the plant into a technical lightweight structure and results in a material that is both stable and light. The resulting objects are characterized by an appealing design aesthetic somewhere between nature and technology. The wood-free product consists mainly of fast growing plant fi bers, is free of conventional binders or resins as well as Co2 neutral.
Die Arbeit Organico verwendet traditionelle nachwachsende Rohstoffe, um von diesen ausgehend ein neues Material zu entwickeln. Ein Klebstoff , bestehend aus Kalziumhydroxid und Kasein, wird verwendet, um Hanff asern und Hanfschäben zu einem Sandwich-Material zu pressen. Dieser Sandwich-Aufbau, mit Fasern an der Außenfl äche und einem schaumigen Kern übersetzt den natürlichen Aufbau der Pflanze in eine technische Leichtbaustruktur und führt zu einem stabil wie auch leichten Material. Die resultierenden Objekte zeichnen sich durch eine freundliche Formsprache aus, die sich in einem Bereich zwischen Natürlichkeit und technischem bewegt. Das Holz-freie Produkt besteht zum Großteil aus schnell nachwachsen Pflanzenfasern, ist frei von konventionellen Bindemittel und Hartzen sowie Co2 neutral.
