Recycled Carbon Reinforced Concrete by Thermolysis
Thermolysis Co., Ltd. from Taiwan has developed a recycled carbon fiber reinforced concrete, combining recycled carbon fiber with traditional concrete. Using microwave-assisted pyrolysis, waste carbon fiber composites are processed, and the recycled short fibers undergo surface modification before being uniformly dispersed into concrete, creating an eco-friendly, high-performance building material. These fibers randomly distribute within the concrete, bridging microcracks to prevent expansion and reduce structural failure risks. This material is ideal for building reinforcement, repairs, and high-strength infrastructure such as airport runways, highways, bridges, and military facilities.
