Subaru Uncharted

Subaru UNCHARTED: Electric compact SUV to launch in spring 2026

  • Dynamic design, high safety: a true Subaru for a new era.
  • Various drive and battery variants with a range of up to 600 kilometers*.
  • Improved e-Subaru Global Platform guarantees driving pleasure and functionality.

Subaru is breaking new ground: with the UNCHARTED (vehicle not yet available for sale and therefore not yet homologated for the German market. The exact technical data, consumption and emission values will be announced before the sales launch) the Japanese all-wheel drive brand’s first fully electric compact SUV will hit German roads next spring. The UNCHARTED is part of an offensive with which Subaru will gradually expand its fully electric model portfolio over the coming months. Three electric cars are planned: in addition to the UNCHARTED, another completely new model, the e-OUTBACK, is in the starting blocks, while the SOLTERRA, launched three years ago, will receive a comprehensive update for the 2026 model year.

Progressive design, high safety, and strong performance on and off paved roads: The new Subaru UNCHARTED combines proven brand qualities with a powerful electric drive and an emotional appearance. Clearly designed surfaces and an exciting interplay of lines and edges underline the high-quality appearance. The coupe-like roofline adds dynamism without compromising functionality: behind the steeply sloping tailgate is a spacious 404-liter cargo compartment, while the long wheelbase and flat floor in the interior guarantee excellent space.

Like all new Subaru electric vehicles, the UNCHARTED is based on the improved e-Subaru Global Platform, which creates the conditions for uncompromising all-electric driving pleasure. Depending on the model version, a low center of gravity is combined with the brand’s signature all-wheel drive (AWD): a system that has been further developed for the age of electric mobility and offers the permanently active all-wheel drive performance that customers have always appreciated. Software control automatically distributes torque between the front and rear axles to improve stability, grip, and traction, especially on snow and ice.

The new UNCHARTED also performs excellently on more challenging terrain. In the compact electric SUV segment, it proves itself to be a typical Subaru: class-leading ground clearance of 211 millimeters, generous approach and departure angles, the improved X-Mode all-wheel drive assistance system, and the Multi-Terrain Monitor in the all-wheel drive version are proof of its genuine off-road capabilities.

The advanced all-wheel drive system is used in the top version in conjunction with two electric motors. These develop a total output of 252 kW/343 hp and accelerate the vehicle from zero to 100 km/h in just 5.0 seconds. The 77 kWh battery enables ranges of up to 525 kilometers*.

There are also two front-wheel drive model versions: a long-range model with an output of 165 kW/224 hp, a 77 kWh battery, and a range of up to 600 kilometers*, range, and an entry-level variant with 123 kW/167 hp and 57.7 kWh battery capacity, which allows a range of up to 455 kilometers*. Thanks to the integrated preconditioning, the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in around 30 minutes using the fast-charging function, even in cold temperatures. A 22 kW on-board charger is also standard, ensuring fast charging at wall boxes and AC charging stations.

Further details about the new UNCHARTED and other new Subaru electric models will be announced in due course.

* Preliminary figures, final homologation pending.
