Southern Baden: Porsche Charging Lounge number eight opens

At the start of the summer holidays in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria in early August, another Porsche Charging Lounge began operations. The new location is located near the A5 motorway, in the immediate vicinity of the popular Europapark Rust, offering convenient transport for business travelers, vacationers, and families. Freiburg im Breisgau is also only about 40 kilometers away.

The fast-charging station in Ringsheim is the eighth exclusive location, alongside Bingen am Rhein, Estenfeld near Würzburg, Hamburg, Ingolstadt, Koblach (Austria), Leonberg, and Nyon (Switzerland). The Ringsheim site houses a total of six DC fast-charging stations, each providing up to 400 kW of charging power simultaneously. All-electric Porsche vehicles can utilize their full fast-charging potential there: A current-generation Taycan, for example, can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in 18 minutes. A Macan requires only slightly more time for this charging process, at 21 minutes.

Outside, there are covered seating areas with integrated speakers, while inside, there are comfortable lounge chairs, a well-stocked selection of soft drinks and snacks, a coffee machine, a water dispenser, two restrooms, and high-performance Wi-Fi.

The Porsche Charging Service provides access to charging points from various providers worldwide. Currently, there are more than 900,000 charging points connected in 26 countries in Europe, including almost 85,000 charging points with more than 150 kW DC charging capacity. This also includes the IONITY network’s more than 750 fast-charging parks in Europe, with around 5,000 charging points. IONITY, like Aral pulse, is a preferred partner of the sports car manufacturer. Fines Charging recently joined as another preferred partner in Bulgaria. Porsche Charging Service Plus customers can charge there at a discounted rate of €0.39/kWh.

The Porsche Charging Lounges are displayed with a gold icon in Porsche Communication Management (PCM) and in the My Porsche app. A Porsche ID is required to access the charging stations and the lounge area. If the license plate is also linked to the Porsche ID, the barrier opens automatically using license plate recognition. The vehicle license plate number can be conveniently stored in the My Porsche app. Alternatively, customers can easily access the location and the lounge using the Porsche Charging Card or a QR code from the My Porsche app. Billing after a charging stop is handled centrally via the Porsche Charging Service. Ad hoc payment is also possible upon request.
