From Wallbox to Zaptec: Daniel Gwercher is the new German head of Zaptec

The Norwegian market leader in electric vehicle charging solutions Zaptec announced that Daniel Gwercher will take over responsibility for the German market as the new Managing Director with immediate effect. In his role as Managing Director Germany, he will establish Zaptec even more strongly as an innovation driver in the field of sustainable mobility as well as a leading provider of charging systems for electric cars in Germany. In doing so, he can build on Zaptec’s know-how. Norway is the pioneer country of electric mobility and six years ahead of its European neighbours. This experience shapes the joint strategy.

Daniel Gwercher began his career in consumer electronics at Polaroid, where he worked in sales and marketing for eight years and held various positions – most recently as Country Manager for DACH & Benelux. After a stopover at Delivery Hero, he switched to the field of electromobility. At Wallbox, as Regional Manager DACH, he discovered his passion for mobility and sustainability. With his sales and marketing expertise, he succeeded there in building markets and teams with a goal-oriented mindset. Over the course of his career, he has worked in Austria, the United States, Spain and Germany. Now he is excited to join the Zaptec country office in Munich as Managing Director Germany, which also serves the Austrian market from there.

In his new role, Daniel Gwercher will support brand growth and develop an ecosystem for state-of-the-art e-mobility with products made in Germany. As part of its production strategy, Zaptec focuses on collaborations that contribute to an electrified and sustainable future. The Norwegian company is aware of the German awareness for high quality and efficiency and focuses on products manufactured in Germany. For example, Zaptec recently signed its partnership with Sanmina Corporation – one of the largest global electronics manufacturers with a production facility in Germany, strategically located to support Zaptec’s planned growth in Germany and Europe.

“We are only at the beginning of an exciting cross-generational shift towards a new kind of mobility. This shift will not only permanently change the way we get around every day, but more importantly our environment. Zaptec has a strong synergy of hardware and software that will make it a crucial player in this journey. I am very excited to be part of the Zaptec Germany family and to help develop the next chapter of the success story,” says Daniel Gwercher. www.zaptec.com
