His presentation “Wireless Power Transfer for Automated Charging of Autonomous Electric Vehicles” will be part of the Charging & AI session block on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.
Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) is emerging as a key technology for automated charging of autonomous EVs and robotaxi fleets.
Prof. Risch will present the fundamentals of wireless power transfer, explain the differences between stationary and dynamic charging while driving, and discuss manufacturing and testing approaches for validating WPT systems.
With extensive experience in the industrialization of electric drives and battery systems at BMW Group and his current roles at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg and Fraunhofer IISB, Prof. Risch brings deep expertise at the intersection of research, production, and future mobility technologies.
