With the ID.3 Neo, Volkswagen presents the successor to its all-electric compact model – and uses the world premiere to introduce a comprehensive upgrade in design, technology and efficiency. Beyond the new name, the model brings noticeable improvements across the entire vehicle concept.
Visually, the ID.3 Neo adopts Volkswagen’s “Pure Positive” design language. A redesigned front end with a continuous light strip and illuminated logo gives the car a more modern and distinctive appearance. Elements such as the body-colored roof and rear enhance its overall proportions, making it appear longer and more dynamic.

Inside, Volkswagen focuses on higher quality and improved usability. New materials, a clearer layout and redesigned controls aim to deliver a more intuitive user experience. At the center is the new “Innovision” infotainment system, featuring a large central display and an integrated app store that allows functions and services to be added on demand.
On the technical side, the ID.3 Neo benefits from a newly developed electric drivetrain. Improved efficiency enables a range of up to 630 kilometers (WLTP), while multiple power levels and battery sizes provide flexibility for different customer needs. Fast-charging performance has also been enhanced, particularly for models with larger battery capacities.
The model is further equipped with a range of new driver assistance and convenience features, including an upgraded Travel Assist with traffic light recognition, one-pedal driving, and Vehicle-to-Load capability, allowing external devices to be powered directly from the car’s battery.
“The new generation of vehicles has been consistently developed with a clear focus on customer benefits,” says Martin Sander, Board Member for Sales, Marketing and After Sales. He highlights not only the increased range and design, but also the intuitive operation and overall technical maturity.
Pre-sales for the ID.3 Neo start on April 16, 2026, in Germany and across many European markets.
