Trade Fair eMove360° Europe 2017: Focus on Materials and Applications

  • Lightweight Construction and innovative Composites are crucial for the New Mobility

Munich, December 2016 – After the successful first edition of the trade fair eMove360°, organizer MunichExpo further pursues the new concept and unites all aspects of the Mobility 4.0 – electric, connected, autonomous – under the forward-looking brand eMove360° Europe 2017. An important role in this development are playing new materials and innovative design. Lightweight construction concepts are crucial for longer ranges of electric vehicles, modern battery and charging technologies call for specifically developed materials and composites. The increasing automation of driving and eventually the fully autonomous driving will fundamentally change the design of vehicles which demands new production technologies that manufacturers and suppliers will have to adopt – and are already doing so. Leading companies like SAPA, Krempel, MWS, Wieland, ThyssenKrupp, Hydro, Advanced Technology or ContiTech have already used the opportunity to present their innovations at this year’s trade fair.

New Mobility calls for New Design

„Cars will be the most important connected devices in the future and will transform from a pure mobility device to a „Third Place“ in addition to home and work place. Therefore, upcoming vehicle generations must provide a welcoming environment. It won’t be sufficient to furnish them with functional instruments and control levers. The New Mobility calls for New Design“, said Robert Metzger, Managing Director of MunichExpo and host of the eMove360° trade fair. New materials are also crucial. The trend towards individualization demands a continuous enhancement of material and production concepts in order to enable the production of small numbers at acceptable costs. This may turn 3D printing, e.g. of components and interior parts, into a key technology of the New Mobility.

Therefore, Robert Metzger pointed out, MunichExpo dedicated two exhibition areas to this key topic: „Materials & Engineering“ as well as „Urban & Mobile Design“. „Innovative materials and new design and production concepts are no end in itself. They rather work only in combination with tangible applications, e.g. in vehicle contruction and vehicle design. Therefore, we see our trade fair eMove360° as the ideal platform to unite both aspects.“

eMove360° Europe 2017, that will take place from October 17–19, at Messe München is already open for booking at https://www.emove360.com/trade-fair/.
