2022: Record year for Volvo Trucks and rising trend in e-trucks

Volvo Trucks achieved the best result in the company’s history in 2022. In 2022, the global truck manufacturer delivered 145,195 trucks. This represents an increase of 19 per cent compared to 2021, when 122,525 trucks were delivered. Volvo Trucks also increased its market share in the heavy truck segment (≥ 16 tonnes) in 41 markets globally. The delivery record and the increase in market share should be seen in the context of the delivery bottlenecks that prevailed throughout the year.

Leading the way in electrification of transport

Volvo Trucks became the world’s first truck manufacturer to start series production of heavy electric trucks in 2022. Deliveries of electric trucks now show a clear positive and increasing trend. The US, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden are now the largest markets for Volvo’s electric trucks.

“Many of our customers, both in Europe and internationally, have started converting to electric vehicles during the year. They have realised that zero-emission transport is a growing and interesting business opportunity. I am very confident that this trend will continue and grow rapidly in the coming years,” says Roger Alm, President Volvo Trucks. www.volvotrucks.com
